This show will feature 4×4 experiences, elite classics, test drives, supercars, pit access and so much more – what more could a petrolhead want? A circuit schedule offers visitors the opportunity to be driven by a professional or to personally test drive some of the latest models on show. And as for the little ones, they’ll have a blast in the safe and secure kiddies play area. The SA Motoring Experience 2017 will also welcome the Johannesburg Boat and Water Show, which will bring more entertainment and excitement to the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit. Don’t miss the African Bird Fair at the Walter Sisulu National Botanical Garden in Poortview on 9 or 10 September.

Pack a picnic basket and a blanket and get down to the African Bird Fair. The annual event, which takes place at the venue for the fourth time, will be filled with fun activities for all. The fair offers birding enthusiasts an exciting weekend programme including topical lectures by experts, guided walks, children’s edutainment, train rides and spot prizes. The aim of the fair is to educate and excite the public about bird conservation and inspire an interest in bird-watching. More than 50 exhibitors will be participating, selling items from birding gadgets to crafts, clothing and books. There will be nature-conservation programmes.

• 9 September: The Go West! Cultural Day at the Kokosi Community Hall in Fochville

The Go West! Cultural Day is the official opening celebration of the Go West! Heritage Month. Gear up in your cultural outfits and get ready to move to the beat as you join the Go West! Dance Train Street Parade on the second Saturday of Heritage Month. Forming part of the Go West! Cultural Day, the Parade, led by bikers, showcases the cultural diversity of our rainbow nation through a variety of dance styles including Afro fusion, Gumboot, Pantsula, Hip-hop, Batswana, Disco, Cramp, Mbaqanga and Street. Performances by drum majorettes make the parade even more colourful. The Dance Train Street Parade starts at a central point in Fochville and ends at Kokosi Community Hall where the audience will be entertained with performances by the various cultural groups and conclude in pure South African style with Dr Rebecca Malope.
