The Bekkersdal Police have arrested a 44-year-old man for allegedly raping his 10-year-old daughter sometime during August.
Exact details of the rape incident are unknown at this stage but according to Sergeant Linkie Lefakane, Bekkersdal Police spokesperson, it is alleged that the mother was unhappy with the way her daughter was taken care of by the father, who had full custody of their two children.

“The mother then reported the matter to a friend in the police force and was advised to take the child to the clinic. A medical examination revealed that the child had been molested and a case was reported to the police on Wednesday, 30 August.
“The father handed himself over to the Carletonville Police Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit, where he was detained.”
He was charged accordingly and after making a brief appearance in the Westonaria Magistrates’ Court, his case was postponed until 17 September for a bail application.
