The Roodepoort Northside is looking for a journalist to join their winning team.
The job entails:
* Writing articles daily on a daily basis for the web and newspaper following a prescribed style
* Networking across all relevant social media platforms
* Covering live events
* Taking photos
Requirements:
- Fluency in English and Afrikaans
- Excellent writing skills in English and Afrikaans: grammar, spelling, punctuation and sentence structure
- Ability to meet non-negotiable deadlines
- Ability to do research on the internet
- Attention to detail
- Adherence to in-house editorial style
- Own transport and valid driver’s licence (non-negotiable)
- Must be prepared to work irregular hours including weekends and evenings
- Good time management, planning and organisational skills
Consisting of a degree or diploma in journalism with at least one year’s experience in a news room will also give you a huge advantage.
Candidates who are invited to an interview will be required to write a language proficiency test.
