A woman was found dead in a home in Homelake on Wednesday morning (16 August).
In what has been described as a house robbery, Captain Appel Ernst, Randfontein Police spokesperson told the Herald on scene that it is believed the woman had been killed violently with a knife. Another woman survived and was transported to hospital.
The exact number of suspected robbers involved in the crime is unknown at this stage. Police will reveal more information soon. Anyone with any information about the crime can contact the Trio Task Team standby number on 079 496 6288.

The Herald was also informed on scene that a local security company had received a panic alarm at about 9.53am.
