Driver airlifted to hospital after crashing into tree

Man hospitalised after car crashes into tree over the weekend.

A motorist had to be airlifted to hospital after having sustained multiple fractures when the vehicle he was travelling in crashed into a tree in Carletonville on Sunday (13 August)

The accident took place early that morning at the Onyx and Dolomite Drive intersection.

Annine Siddall, ER24 spokesperson said their paramedics found the man outside the vehicle.

“He was first transported to Leslie Williams Hospital in Fochville and then airlifted by the ER24 and Oneplan Medical helicopter to a nearby hospital for further medical care.”

The exact circumstances surrounding the collision are not yet known, but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
