Three killed as car crashes into tree

Car crashes into tree killing three, injuring one during the weekend.

Three people were killed while another sustained critical injuries when their vehicle crashed into a tree next to Khutsong Road in Carletonville at about 2.30am on Saturday, 15 July.

When ER24 paramedics arrived on scene they found four men had been ejected from the vehicle.

“Unfortunately there was nothing paramedics could do for three of the men and they were declared dead on scene,” said Annine Siddall, an ER24 spokesperson.

ER24 paramedics stabilised and transported the remaining patient to Carletonville Hospital where he was airlifted by other emergency services to an appropriate hospital for further medical care.

Local authorities attended the scene and will conduct an investigation.
