Movement helps youth fight challenges
On Tuesday, 18 July, the movement will undertake educational tours and projects to the Hector Peterson Memorial and Nelson Mandela house.
During the month of June, the Shukushukuma Youth Movement assisted a number of teenagers with the challenges they face every day, particularly in townships.
Alexander Mpaga, founder and president of the movement, said the youth needs information and support in facing challenges such as crime, unemployment, teenage pregnancy and substance abuse.
The movement took them to the Johannesburg Nasrec Expo recently for the commemoration of Youth Month and during last week, helped the Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation as well as other non-profit organisations to host holiday programmes at the recreational centre in Mohlakeng. This continued for five days.
Come Tuesday, 18 July, the movement will focus on educational tours and projects such as visits to the Hector Peterson Memorial and Nelson Mandela house.
