Two of three robbers nailed: Another still at large

One of three robbers who targeted a tuck-shop recently is still at large.

Two men, aged 22 and 30, were arrested for robbing a tuck-shop situated in an informal settlement in the Randfontein area on Monday, 10 July.

Constable Lucky Matome, Tarlton Police spokesperson said, “The first suspect was arrested a day after the incident while the second was caught a few days later. Their accomplice is still at large.”

Matome also said, “At about 1am on Thursday, 29 June, three men, one of them armed, forcefully entered the shop. They pointed a firearm at the shopkeeper and demanded money. The suspects then allegedly took an undisclosed amount of money, airtime vouchers, cigarettes and a cellphone.Crime prevention members of Tarlton Police took it upon themselves to ensure that these suspects were brought to book.”

“The first suspect has already made a brief appearance before the Krugersdorp Magistrates’ Court and the second suspect is expected to make his court appearance soon,” said Matome.

The station commander at Tarlton Police expressed her satisfaction with the manner in which the members carried out their duties.
