A murder suspect is on the run and the Bekkersdal Police need your help to find him.
According to Sergeant Linkie Lefakane, the Bekkersdal Police spokesperson, “We have launched a manhunt for a suspect after a 26-year-old victim was shot and killed at a local tavern in the area. The incident took place at about 10pm, on Saturday, 10 June.

“It is alleged the victim was outside the tavern when he was confronted by the suspect armed with a firearm. He sustained a gunshot wound to the body and died on scene. A case of murder was opened and is being investigated.
“Preliminary investigation reveals that the suspect was known to the victim. The motive for the killing is still unknown.”
Police are appealing to the community not to try and apprehend the suspect as he is deemed to be armed and dangerous.
Anyone who might have information that could lead to the arrest of the perpetrator is requested to contact the investigating officer, Sergeant Hendrick Moiloa, on 072 561 9417, or to call the Bekkersdal Police on 011 755 0000/ 5/ 6. Alternatively, they can call the Crime Stop line on 08600 10111.
