Top 5 finalist in SA Bachelor 2017 plans Book Drive

" One book can make all the difference in the life of a child," said Reverend Johan van der Merwe.

Reverend Johan van der Merwe, 38, from the Lewende Nuwe Generasie Kerk, recently made it through to the Top 5 in the SA Bachelor 2017 Competition

This competition is based on more than just looks, it’s about charity work, and making a difference in people’s lives. Johan is already doing a lot of work for the Connie Mulder Centre.

The T.A.L.K. initiative, which stands for Tolerance, Acceptance, Literacy and Kindness, forms the basis of their initiative and part of the SA Bachelor and Bachelorette 2017 Competition. A Book Drive, which is part of the T.A.L.K. Literacy Campaign, is collecting books which will be given to the community on 18 July.

Johan said, ” Do you have children’s books that are just lying around the house or filling up your book-shelves and gathering dust? Could you perhaps donate them towards a very good cause?

I am collecting children’s books as part of our SA Bachelor 2017 Literacy Campaign – The Great Escape.”

If anybody is willing to support this campaign, please contact Marie on 082 738 4685 to make arrangements for delivery or collection. Residents can also drop the books off at the Ben Morgenrood Group showroom at 84 Main Reef Road in Randfontein.

” One book can make all the difference in the life of a child,” said Johan.
