Admission criteria for drug or alcohol rehab
Are you an addict? Life Recovery Centre announces its admission criteria.
Life Recovery Centre is a drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility that admits adults with substance dependencies.
The six-week programme is not faith-based. It encompasses social work, therapeutic intervention, and the Narcotics Anonymous and Alcoholic Anonymous principles.
The applicant must meet the following requirements for admission:
1. Referral by a social worker, by submitting the following documents a week prior to admission:
a) Psycho-social report with an after-care plan
b) Certified copy of identity document
c) Medical certificate
d) Proof of address
e) Sworn affidavit indicating that the applicant is voluntarily applying for treatment
2. Males and females between the ages of 18 and 65
3. Proven lack of funds for private rehabilitation treatment.
4. Applicants must not present with dual diagnoses e.g. mentally challenged patients with substance addiction
5. Applicants must undergo a one-week detoxification before being placed in primary care
6. Applicants must spend the duration of the treatment as in-patients without leave of absences, except in matters that can not be postponed and need the applicant’s presence
7. Applicants with chronic illnesses must bring enough treatment to last the duration of treatment (six weeks)
8. The applicant must be accompanied by the referral social worker during admission
9. The referral social worker must first obtain confirmation of admission before bringing the applicant to the facility
10. Admissions are done on Wednesdays and Thursdays between 8am and noon
Patients are expected to complete the full six weeks of treatment before they can be discharged with a full Discharge Report and a Certificate of Participation.
