Police release statement about brutal murder of 18 year old youth

A case of murder is under investigation, said Warrant Officer Raymond Sebonyane.

The Westonaria Police have released an official statement about the brutal murder of 18-year-old Kenny Tredrea, which was reported on by the Herald recently.

Warrant Officer Raymond Sebonyane, spokesperson for the Westonaria Police, said that on Tuesday, 20 June at about 7pm, the body of a 18-year-old white male was found in the veld near Hillshaven in Westonaria.

“It is alleged that the deceased’s hands were tied and he had injuries to his upper body,” he said.

A case of murder is under investigation.

The Herald reported on the events leading up to the murder in the 7 July edition, after speaking to Johan van Wyk, the chairperson of the Waterpan Neighbourhood Watch, who found the body.
