Motorcyclist airlifted after mysterious accident

A Netcare 911 helicopter airlifted him to Netcare Milpark Hospital.

A man in his 40s was airlifted to hospital after an incident involving his motorcycle and a bakkie close to Tambotie Mall. It happened between 5pm and 6pm on Friday, 30 June.

ER24 paramedics found the motorcycle on its side against the pavement. The man was assessed, stabilised and airlifted to Netcare Milpark Hospital by a Netcare 911 helicopter.

An eyewitness told a reliable Herald source that the bakkie allegedly swerved for reasons unknown, causing the motorcycle rider also to swerve and drive into the pavement.

According to an ER24 paramedic, the man broke his arm. They also suspected a lower back injury and broken ribs.
