Over R1 million drug bust in Westonaria

Police made a massive drug bust in Libanon early this morning: three arrested.

Three Tanzanian citizens were arrested for being in possession of dagga worth over R1 million on the N12 road in Libanon, Westonaria early on the morning of Tuesday, 4 July.

Warrant Officer Raymond Sebonyane, Westonaria Police’s spokesperson said, “It is alleged that three provincial traffic officers, Veli Stephen Nkabinde, Thabo Manyama and Mpho Kganane were busy with their duties on the N12 in Westonaria, when they stopped a white Hyundai H1 vehicle with three occupants.

“The officers searched the vehicle and found several bags full of dagga. The three men, aged between 32 and 37, were arrested for being in possession of dagga with a street value of over R1 million,” Sebonyane said.

Colonel Selvan Moonsamy, the Westonaria Police station commander as well as Broyce Mainane, the Principal Provincial Inspector, appreciate the good work of the police members.

The suspects are expected to appear in court soon.
