On Friday, 23 June, at almost midnight, the body of a 30-year-old deceased male was discovered at the Randfontein dumping site.

The news spread fast, as approximately 20 days ago, a 40-year-old man was also found murdered at the site. According to Captain Appel Ernst, the latest deceased person apparently had a bullet wound in the upper body.
“The circumstances that led to his death are still unknown and investigation is receiving priority attention,” said Ernst.
It was later confirmed that the deceased’s identity had been established.

The Randfontein Police are urging community members who might be able to shed light on the case to contact them on 011 767 2300 or alternatively the Crime Stop number on 08600 10111. Information will be handled with the necessary care.
