#MunicipalMonday: Spotlight on Homestead Avenue

VIDEO: After receiving complaints about tarring on Homestead Avenue the Herald took a look and this is what we found ...

There is some good news for residents after the Herald visited Homestead Avenue in Homelake for this week’s #MunicipalMonday.

A local business owner contacted the Herald, asking us to go and have a look at the faulty tarring. We spotted the problem as soon as we arrived, but were impressed to see municipal workers already working on it.

The part where tar was laid over the grass.

The problem was that tar had been laid over the grass growing along the edge of the road. Thabang Dlamini, one of the workers, said they are going to fix this issue as soon as they are done repairing the area where a piece of road collapsed during the weekend.

This problem occurred over the weekend, when part of the road collapsed.

After all the tarring and work that has been done on Homestead Avenue, Randfontein residents could be seeing a change in road conditions in the near future.
