Police – community-relations meeting scheduled

Important meeting scheduled to strengthen the partnership between communities on the West Rand and the police.

Major General Anna Mateisi, the West Rand Cluster Commander invites communities in the cluster to attend a Community Policing Forum (CPF) meeting to strengthen the partnership between the communities and the police.

“The partnership between the CPF and police on the West Rand determines our successes in combating crime in our cluster. If you are serious about your safety, this is your opportunity to become part of the solution,” said Major General Mateisi.

The CPF on the West Rand, which consists of 13 policing areas, is an integral part in policing and issues regarding the partnership between the police, CPF and other community-based organisations will be discussed.

The 13 policing areas are Bekkersdal, Carletonville, Fochville, Hekpoort, Kagiso, Khutsong, Krugersdorp, Magaliesburg, Muldersdrift, Randfontein, Tarlton, Wedela and Westonaria. Any person/ organisation from these areas who can contribute positively towards this partnership is therefore invited to attend this meeting.

Agenda points for this meeting include the cluster crime overview, the police demographic overview, projects by the CPF, and marketing of station CPFs. The Cluster CPF board has two vacancies, which means that two executive board members will be elected during this meeting.
