Ackermans gives back

New store in Tambotie Mall donates clothing and blankets to child and elderly beneficiaries.

To say thank you for all the support they have been receiving since opening at the Tambotie Mall, Ackermans gave back to the community.

According to Takalani Palmer, divisional service manager said the Tambotie Mall store is the best performing store in the division.

The store donated clothing and blankets to child and elderly beneficiaries and pledged a partnership with Mohau Home Based Care, a charity based in Mohlakeng.

Mohau provides care and support to terminally ill people and supplies them with chronic medication. They also offer counselling and support groups for those in need. Lastly, they provide children with school uniforms and stationery.

The partnership is part of Ackermans’ Ububele Corporate Social Investment (CSI) project.

Ububele translates in English to compassion or generosity and that is exactly what Riaan van Rooyen, Ackermans director of operations said they want to show to the community of Randfontein.

Martin Keller, Ackermans operations general manager said the store is only playing a small part for Mohau and that they are the ones looking after their community’s children and elderly.

On Tuesday, 30 May the three of the stores big guns came to the Tambotie store to kit children and elderly beneficiaries out for winter.

They said this is only the beginning for Mohau as a bigger Ububele is coming for them.
