Toekies beauties off to New York
Her motto in life is that everything happens for a reason.
Jade-Miné Vorster, 15 and Cassidy Hoging, 9, are two beautiful girls who have been scouted from two different beauty pageants. They now have their sights set on New York.
Jade-Miné is a Grade 9 learner at Randfontein High School and Cassidy attends Hartzstraat Primary. Both girls are part of the Toekomsrus Philanthropic Foundation Arts Academy.
When Jade-Miné took part in the Miss Johannesburg competition at Silverstar, a talent scout spotted her and after several auditions and a boot camp, she was chosen to do a dance audition in front of actors of the movie Step Up in New York. She will be in the Big Apple from 28 July to 9 August year and will also do acting and modelling auditions.
“My dad is a pastor and my mom a life coach. Both inspire me. I would also love to study to become a psychologist,” Jade-Miné said.
Her father, Pastor Johnny Vorster said it is very exciting because his daughter is doing what she always wanted to do.
Jade-Miné said her motto in life is that everything happens for a reason.
Cassidy, Miss Mini Teen South Africa 2017, was scouted at the Miss Gauteng pageant. Her trip to New York is planned for July 2018. Her favourite model is Tyra Banks.
Cassidy became interested in modelling and pageants at the age of six. Her parents, Tom and Florence Hoging, had this to say about their daughter’s achievements: “It is amazing how well she is doing. Things are really happening for her.”
A wise Cassidy told the Herald, “Beauty does not matter, it is beauty from the inside that counts. The motto I live by is never give up, never surrender.”
