Sunlight helps the All Nations Christian Church solve their water crisis – find out how

Sunlight knows that water is a problem for too many South Africans, so we've decided to lend a helping hand to those in need. Read more about how Sunlight made a difference to the All Nations Christian Church in Seshego.

At Sunlight, we’ve heard this more times than we can remember: “We do not have water here. There is nothing coming from our taps or even the supply of water near us. Many of our women and children wake up early to get water from the next zone for daily use”. This is, unfortunately, the everyday experience of too many South Africans. Water cannot be done without as it is used not only for drinking, cooking and hygiene, but also for necessary household chores like cleaning and laundry.

Understanding that water is often in short supply, and even expensive, Sunlight took the decision to make an impact on the lives of highly disadvantaged communities across South Africa. One place we knew we could help was in Seshego, Polokwane. The All Nations Christian Church, under the leadership of Pastor Nkoana M.J., engages in many forms of good community work. Their biggest problem? Water, plain and simple.

To say Pastor Nkoana M.J. was ecstatic is an understatement. And when we arrived to fulfil our promise to her and her community, we brought famed actress Leleti Khumalo with us to represent Sunlight. Everything went according to plan, and we were extremely happy to hand over this much needed resource to a church that goes as far as cooking and providing hot meals to so many every week.

Sunlight is proud of this achievement, and we have been busy doing this in several different establishments, including a library, 2 primary schools, a community centre and a care centre. In addition, our Sunlight 2in1 Smart Foam has saved our customers almost 30 million litres of water when doing their laundry since we began the project.
