Mayor’s right-hand woman rakes in international award

Caroline Setsiba, a municipal official, rakes in an international award.

Randfontein is not just a small town, the town produces many interesting individuals who bring home awards to the town.

This time around, Caroline Setsiba, Rand West City Local Municipality (RWCLM) spokesperson and recent media honours graduate will be receiving a special award.

She will be receiving an award from the African Leadership Awards and Nation Building Series for her work within the community, fighting against xenophobia and creating a united Africa.

This event will also mark the third edition of the Nation Building Series and will be hosted by the Independent Pan-African Youth Parliament (IPAYP).

The IPAYP is an organisation for proactive, innovative and dedicated African young persons who strive to develop, empower and develop the continent’s young persons between 18 and 35.

The IPAYP seeks to ensure the ‘Africa we want’ which is one of the main objectives of the African Union. They seek ways of ensuring governments deliver on the promise of a peaceful and prosperous Africa.

Caroline said she is honoured to even be considered for the award let alone being the winner thereof.
