R’fontein man sentenced for murder

A man who stabbed and killed his victim after a fight about a woman has been sentenced to 15 years.

The Bekkersdal Police recently traced and arrested 21-year-old Fikile Ngloza, who murdered a man in a fight over a woman before fleeing to Cape Town.

Once Ngloza was brought back to Westonaria, his court proceedings went forward in the Westonaria Magistrates’ Court where he was convicted and sentenced to 15 years’ imprisonment.

According to Sergeant Linkie Lefakane, the Bekkersdal Police spokesperson, Ngloza stabbed and killed a 30-year-old man on 7 November, 2015 at a Bekkersdal tavern.

Ngloza and the victim were allegedly arguing over a woman when the fight broke out. Ngloza then pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim. He later fled to Cape Town.

Through an intensive investigation led by detective Warrant Officer Bernard Makgato, Ngloza was traced and arrested in Cape Town and was brought back to Westonaria for his trail.

“He was denied bail until the case was finalised,” Lefakane said.

Colonel Mbangwa Nkhwashu, station commander of the Bekkersdal Police commended the member for his dedication to his work.
