An inquest has been opened after the body of a man, 57, was discovered in his place of residence in the Peacehaven area.
Captain Appel Ernst, Randfontein Police spokesperson said it is alleged the deceased was found after a concerned resident did not see her neighbour for two days. She said his house was also wide open.
“When the Randfontein Police were called to investigate, they found the body of the man with severe burns to the legs lying next to a Primus stove. At this stage it is unknown what caused the man’s death.”

Ernst again reminded people who make use of an open flame to heat food or water to take extreme caution.
