Jannas gets automotive class upgrade

Hyundai Automotive South Africa has been good to Jannas.

Hoërskool Jan Viljoen (Jannas) has recently received new equipment for their automotive class.

Hyundai Automotive South Africa handed over a complete engine, gearbox and several cylinder heads to the school as part of their contribution to education through their company’s corporate social investment (CSI) programme.

The donated equipment will go a long way to expose learners to the new technology. Fanie Schoonraad, the technical teacher of the class said the donation is most welcome.

Hyundai previously donated a hydraulic lift to the school, which has already been put up in the automotive class that has 12 Grade 10 learners and 13 Grade 11 learners.

Justin Throne, Hyundai Automotive South Africa General Manager said the company’s after-sales division gave a presentation to 750 learners at the school. During the presentation, Mark van Coppenhagen, a trainer in the Hyundai after-sales division, gave learners insight into the various job opportunities for a technically minded person at Hyundai and the options to grow one’s career.
