R30 000 reward for these five rings …

Woman puts massive price tag on some of her possessions which vanished from outside her home.

An elderly woman from Westonaria is offering a R30 000 cash reward to anyone who can reunite her with her five rings.

June Wade, 80, recently lost her rings, in what she describes as a theft outside the old age home where she lives.

She said she had packed her bags to go away for the weekend with her daughter on Saturday, 18 March.

She put some of the already packed bags outside while waiting for her daughter to pick her up, went to fetch the rest and realised her vanity case, which had five of her most prized rings in it, was gone when she returned.

“It’s the sentimental value of the rings that can’t be replaced. One was left to me and the others were from my late husband,” June said.

At first she thought her neighbours were playing a trick on her but later discovered that the vanity case had actually vanished. Her suspicion is that thieves jumped over the home’s precast wall, saw the vanity case, and took it.

She has since opened a case at the Westonaria Police and is hoping to see her rings once more as they are dear to her.
