Randfontein Christian Academy relocates

Randfontein Christian Academy (RCA) relocates from Elandsvlei to Randgate. Here's why ...

Randfontein Christian Academy (RCA) has relocated to 50 Bailey Street, Randgate within the AFM Randfontein Church’s premises, its principal, Doctor Chris Ayres confirmed.

RCA used to be situated at Plot 85 Elandsvlei, Randfontein. RCA was established six years ago when the founder, Pastor Gerrit Pretorius, saw a need in the greater community of Randfontein and surroundings for a Christian-based curriculum and school environment for children.

RCA uses Accelerated Christian Education (ACE) – an individualised, mastery-based, character-developing Grade RR to Grade 12 academic programme that instils Biblical values, life skills and an understanding of unique purpose and individual potential to educate its learners.

“It was not an easy decision or an easy task to make the final decision to move the school in such a short time,” Dr Chris said.

He continued, “After various lengthy meetings and deliberations with all concerned parties, including the parents, we came to the conclusion that the relocation of RCA holds more advantages for the school, church, parents, learners and the community over the long-term.

“Staff, church leaders and members of the church put all their efforts into the relocation process as well as the preparation of the classrooms and offices at the new premises. No compromises were made as we had to have all the classes ready on 18 April when the school reopened for the second term. This was done in an exceptional manner to meet the set deadlines.”

The learners, parents and visitors were pleasantly surprised to see what had been achieved during the school holiday.

Dr Chris added, “The Lord has taken us this far and we know He will not leave or forsake us; therefore we trust Him for the future of RCA and for the new classrooms that we envisage building in the very near future.”

The staff of RCA is said to be very excited and ready to take the school to the next level. RCA currently has classes from Grades RR to 7 and will gradually grow up to Grade 12.
