Women pour out their hearts together

Women from all walks of life join in prayer for tough times.

Women from all walks of life, from within and outside the West Rand came together for a Women’s Breakfast Prayer Meeting held at the Rand West City Local Municipality IEC hall recently.

Ntsiki Khumalo, the Rand West City first lady, worship leader and wife of the Executive Mayor, Mzi Khumalo, said it was motivated by a need for divine intervention for spiritual and other challenges faced by women in all aspects of life. She said that in most instances women are at the frontiers of societal and domestic situations such as divorce and relationship breakdowns.

“I have experienced difficult situations myself, and had to make a call to God to find a way out,” Ntsiki said.

Guest speaker was Khensani Moloi, Bishop Lady Prophetess from the Vaal, who gave the women a speech of hope in a difficult environment and called for divine intervention. She also described the first lady as Esther in the Bible, a Jewish girl who went on to become a queen of Median.

“In most instances, God speaks to us and we do not act on what He instructs us to do. Ntsiki as first lady of the Rand West acted upon what God has called her to do, that is why we have come together as women to pour out our hearts”.

Prophetess Baloi encouraged the women to form a chat group that will not necessarily be for gossip and other things but be a prayer chat group in times of difficulties.

After prayers and a sermon, Ntsiki took the stage to sing along with cousin Jonki Nqoko, who led the women in a passionate spirit of dance and worship. The choir backing them up was the West Rand Worship Team while Nombulelo Tshefu and Pretty Cossa belted out vibrant gospel tunes, both contemporary and traditional.
