School gets treated by Chef School

The students of the Chef School also decorated the venue beautifully.

On Tuesday, 28 March, a teacher and a resident from Randfontein collaborated with the Chef School for Food and Wine to give learners a day they will never forget.

Fifty Grade R learners from Krugersdorp Town School spent a day at The Chef School’s venue. This special day was called The Easter Fun Day Charity, and was organised by Carla van der Westhuizen, a Randfontein resident and student at the Chef School, and her fellow students.

The learners were treated to delicious pizza that the students prepared for them, with mixed cordials to drink. They each received a party pack and a teddy bear to make this day even more special. The students of the Chef School also decorated the venue beautifully.

The winners of the colouring-in competition: First place – Mushe Netshifhefhe, second place –Thando Mbokazi and third place – Luyanda Mathentombi.

The learners were entertained by playing various games like pin the tail to the bunny, a sack race, a jumping castle, and much more.

They also held a colouring-in competition. The winners of the competition were, in first place – Mushe Netshifhefhe; in second place – Thando Mbokazi; and in third place – Luyanda Mathentombi.

Lynette Terblanche, a teacher at the school, said they appreciate that their school was chosen to attend this event, and that the children had a ball. The owner of the Chef School, Minnie Brink, who is also a lecturer at the school, enjoyed seeing the learners being treated.

The sponsors for this charity event were: Tony’s Meat Market, HOP Italian pizza from Randgate, Key West Pick n Pay, staff from the business E4, Ouma Bolliebekkies , I & V Rent a Bounce and Cats’ Bus Parties. The students themselves also sponsored items for this event.
