It’s raining food parcels

The Gauteng Department of Social Development launch food parcel project.

The Gauteng Department of Social Development has been sending team after team to Kokosi in Fochville.

On Monday 6 and Tuesday, 7 March they distributed food parcels to disadvantaged families in the area.

The parcels were handed out at approximately 9.30am at the Kokosi Molatlheng Community Hall.

The project was created to assist families who earn little to no income, with one of the department’s objectives being to eradicate hunger in the area.

Families were interviewed on the day and were assessed to determine their circumstances, whether they actually qualify for the programme or not and where they had heard about it.

It seems the department is planning to have more such events to create more sustainable solutions to poverty and hunger.
