Police and CPF partnership leads to arrest of three suspected drug lords in Randgate.

The partnership between the Randfontein Police and Community Policing Forum (CPF) led to the arrest of three suspected drug lords in Randgate recently.

Captain Appel Ernst, Randfontein Police’s spokesperson, said members of the CPF provided information about drug dealing in the Randgate area on Wednesday, 1 March.

At about 6.45pm, several members from the West Rand Flying Squad and the K9 units swooped on a house in Stegman Street, Randgate.

The three suspects were found on the premises, with a large quantity of pills, believed to be drugs, in their possession. The men, aged between 20 and 30, were placed under arrest. They appeared in the Randfontein Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 6 March facing charges of being in possession of, and/or dealing in drugs.

Brigadier Mashole Manamela, Randfontein’s station commander, expressed his appreciation towards the community for their pro-active approach in this matter.

“Together we can rid Randfontein of drug lords and pushers. Thank you for the information and please don’t stop providing it to us,” said the Brigadier.
