The Pom Poms have always been one of the highlights of the annual Randfontein Show, and with Jannas dominating the event for five years running, it was a huge surprise for the Pom Poms, and the other contestants, when Randfontein High School (RHS) won the competition on Thursday, 2 March. The victory was surely well deserved. The emotions on their faces, the dancing as a unit and the red jackets of the girls were extremely eye-catching.

Hoërskool Riebeeckrand was second and Jannas third. The other competing school was Thuto Lehakwe Secondary School.

The little ones from Twinkle Stars Daycare Randfontein also stole many hearts with their performance and it was clear judges were going to have a hard time making a decision.

The winner of the Junior Pom Pom competition was Laerskool Rapportryer. In second place was Ram Extreme and in third place, the Rampoppies. The response from this winning group was that of extreme excitement. The crowd was also very pleased. The other competing school was Westgold Primary.
