Carryou, a stellar example of sustainability

The Carryou Elandsvlei ECD has become more sustainable than ever.

The Carryou Ministry’s Elandsvlei Early Childhood Development Centre (ECD) has been going from strength to strength since it was erected in 2016.

The ECD was established as their Drop In Centre in Toekomsrus could not accommodate their numbers.

Subsequently, Carryou acquired land and shortly after, they received containers which were fully equipped with everything needed to run an ECD and then some.

The containers are the product of a donor from the United States (US) who wishes not to be named. They were made by the Bright Kid Foundation and have been serving the community of OR Tambo ever since.

Since then, the centre received running toilets and the Carryou Safe Park was completed and opened.

Most recently, the ECD received a steel canopy to provide shade for its learners as well as a 2500 litre water tank which was set up to catch rain water from the canopy which will be used to irrigate the ECD’s vegetable garden.

The ECD not only serves parents and children in the community but is a stellar example of creating projects that are able to sustain themselves.

Carryou does all of this through sponsorships and do not charge for their services.
