Sheep stolen, then slaughtered

Police arrest two men who stole a sheep and slaughtered it in a shack in Randfontein.

 

Randfontein Police arrested two suspects aged 33 and 55 for being in possession of a stolen sheep on Sunday, 26 February.

Captain Appel Ernst, Randfontein Police spokesperson said, “It is alleged by a 32-year-old complainant that he herded the livestock into their kraal at about 4.30pm. During the course of the evening, he was informed that one sheep was missing. He started investigating and found the sheep already slaughtered in a shack in Zenzele.”

The suspects were apprehended and the Randfontein Police were called. The complainant handed the suspects over to the police.

The suspects appeared in the Randfontein Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 27 February, facing a charge of stock theft.
