A young man, 23, was recently found with multiple head injuries in a pool of blood. He was assaulted in Simunye, Westonaria on Saturday, 11 February at approximately 4pm.
After a police officer from the Bekkersdal Police had found the young man, a case of assault was registered at the police station and the victim was transported to a local hospital.
Unfortunately, the man succumbed to his injuries in hospital. The assault case was subsequently changed to murder.
“The suspects were traced and arrested on 20 February following an investigation led by Warrant Officer Bernard Magatho,” Sergeant Linkie Lefakane, Bekkersdal Police spokesperson said.
The three murder suspects have already appeared in the Westonaria Magistrates’ Court on 22 February for the start of their murder case.
