Man rapes woman, 38, in her own home

Police are searching high and low for a man who raped woman in her bed.

Yet another rape case has been brought to the Herald’s attention and this time a 38-year-old woman fell victim in her own home.

Sergeant Linkie Lefakane, Bekkersdal Police spokesperson confirmed that the rape was committed at about 10.10pm on Sunday, 27 November 2016 in the Tambo section of Bekkersdal.

The woman was allegedly asleep in her home when she was accosted by the rapist.

The man pulled her around, undressed her and raped her. “[He] penetrated her without a condom,” Lefakane said.

The woman shouted for help and the suspect later fled through her window.

“The victim was able to identify the suspect through an identikit,” she said.

Police are now searching high and low for the rapist and are calling on the community to get involved in the search.

“Any person who might shed light on the whereabouts of this culprit is requested to contact the Carletonville Family Violence, Child Abuse and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS),” Lefakane urged.
