Man escapes death after car crashes

Man narrowly escapes death after early morning accident on R28.

A man narrowly escaped death this morning after he allegedly lost control of the car he was driving and slammed into a pole on the R28 between Randfontein and Krugersdorp.

The accident took place at about 7.20am on Wednesday, 22 February.

Deo Mogoera, a Mogale City Senior Traffic Officer told the Herald on scene that, “The man had to be cut out of his vehicle with the Jaws of Life, but he is alive and has been taken to Krugersdorp Private Hospital.”

Gary Badenhorst, Chairperson of West Village Neighbourhood Watch, who was also on the scene, said that the man lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a pole. Help24’s towtruck services were also on the scene.

Mogoera also says that emergency medical services were on the scene first.

The severity of the man’s injuries are unknown to the Herald at the time of going to press.
