An entertainment couple’s beautiful love
The Herald interviews one of the many in-love couples in Randfontein for Valentine's Day.
Linda, 37, and Andre, 40, Killian are not just famous residents in Randfontein, they are also married and still very much in love, and will be celebrating Valentine’s Day soon.
Linda is a famous singer who has also written a book, has a signed record label, and won an award in 2015. Andre is the CEO of Mad Events in Randfontein.
The Herald met the couple and spoke to them about the big word … love. Linda said they met through a mutual friend. She laughed while she said, ” Andre was actually supposed to be my blind date one night, but chickened out and I ended up going on a date with one of his friends.”
She said further that she ended up becoming good friends with his friend, but officially met Andre one night at a Keg Karaoke evening. Andre said, “I did not waste any time, I asked her to marry me two months after we started dating”.
They now have known each other for 15 years. This busy couple will celebrate their 14th anniversary on 6 September.They got married at the Methodist Church, and held their reception at the golf club, both of which are in Randfontein.
When the Herald asked him what gave him butterflies in his stomach about her the first time he saw her, Andre said it was her smile. Linda said Andre’s consideration of her needs has always been what drew her to him. He also has the most beautiful eyes.
The Herald then asked them the big question: “What is the secret of your happy married life together?”
Both of them said that it is a choice. ” Things are not always rosy and we have our ups and downs but we have both made a decision that we are together forever,” said Linda.
Andre said,”We choose to love each other through issues and even love each other when we are mad at one another. Our love does not die because of a disagreement.” They both feel that a lot of couples just give up nowadays. It’s a choice to love someone.
Characteristically, Andre loves Linda’s friendliness and kind heart. She loves his caring nature and that he sees to his family first. The couple have two beautiful children, who are their pride and joy. Their son, Austin, is 10, and their daughter, Reese, is five years old.
