Man killed in head-on crash with truck

Man in his 30s dies in head-on collision with truck early this morning.

A man believed to be in his 30s was killed when his vehicle collided head-on with a truck on the Klerkskraal Road in Carletonville early on the morning of Friday, 3 February.

ER24 paramedics said they arrived on the scene at 6.30am to find the truck and the wrecked light motor vehicle lying on opposite sides of the road.

“Paramedics inspected the scene and found the driver of the car lying trapped and motionless inside his vehicle. Unfortunately, the man had already succumbed to his multiple fatal injuries. Nothing could be done for the man and he was declared dead on the scene,” said Russel Meiring, ER24 spokesperson.

The driver of the truck was found walking around on the scene. Paramedics assessed the man and found that he had escaped injury.

The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
