Man wakes up to intruders in house

Man wakes up to screams from domestic worker and intruders in his bedroom in his Greenhills home.

A 22 year-old man woke up to screams from his domestic worker and two intruders in his house in Greenhills on Wednesday, 18 January.

According to Captain Appel Ernst, Randfontein Police’s spokesperson, “It is alleged the man was still asleep at approximately 9am when he was awakened by someone screaming. It is alleged it was the domestic worker who then ran into the room where he was sleeping.

“She was followed by an unknown male suspect. The suspect started fighting with the victim but eventually the suspect turned around and ran out of the house. The victim then followed the suspect and realised the front door was damaged and household items were stolen. According to the domestic worker, there were allegedly two males in the house.”

No serious injuries were sustained by either of the persons in the house.

The police are calling on the community to assist them with information regarding this incident. Anyone with information can contact the Crime Stop number – 08600 10111, or SMS Crime Line – 32211 to report crime anonymously.
