Two men busted with stolen car

Cops trace car thieves from Diepsloot to Randfontein.

Two suspects, 35 and 44, were arrested for being in possession of a stolen vehicle.

According to Sergeant Linkie Lefakane, Bekkersdal Police spokesperson, the suspects were arrested on Sunday in Bekkersdal after police followed up on information about a possible stolen vehicle.

The information police received was linked to a house robbery which occurred in Diepsloot.

The Johannesburg K9 Unit were conducting their routine patrol duties while also following up on the information and picked up a signal at a Bekkersdal home in Ramela Street.

When the officers went to the home, they spotted two men in the car and once spotted, the men attempted to flee, however, members of the K9 Unit were faster and managed to apprehend them.

“They were arrested for being in possession of a stolen vehicle. They will be charged and are expected to appear before the Westonaria Magistrates’ Court during the course of this week,” Lefakane said.
