Meet some of RCA’s 2017 Grade 1s

RCA, just like the rest of the schools in the country, welcomed its new group of Grade 1s for the 2017 school year.

Randfontein Christian Academy (RCA), just like the rest of the schools in the country, welcomed its new group of Grade 1s for the 2017 school year on Wednesday, 11 January.

Clarisse Venter, a Grade 1 teacher said the little ones’ very first experience at school was in the school hall. There, Pastor Chantal Strydom opened the meeting.

After that they went to their classroom, where they got to know each other and their new teacher. They proudly posed for the teacher and were very excited. A meeting with the rest of the school personnel followed and finally they had some fun on the playground.

A Grade 1 learner, Joshua Pretorius, whose mother was also his Grade R teacher, wanted to know if Clarisse is now his new mother, seeing that Clarisse is now his teacher.

Their questions ranged from “Are we going to learn how to read and write?” to “When can we have our lunch?”

The new Grade 1s will surely have a great year ahead of them at RCA.
