Two-vehicle crash in rainy weather leaves one dead

One killed, three injured in wet weather accident.

One person died and three others were injured in an accident on Elandsrand Road, Carletonville on Saturday, 7 January.

According to Werner Vermaak, the ER24 spokesperson, paramedics from ER24 arrived on the scene at about 11.30am and found one of the vehicles lying on its side in the middle of the road.

“Sadly, the driver of that vehicle succumbed to his injuries while still in the vehicle, and was declared dead on the scene.”

His passenger, along with the two occupants of the other vehicle, were found to have sustained moderate injuries. They were assessed and later transported to Carletonville Hospital.

The exact circumstances surrounding the collision are not yet known. Local authorities attended the scene, and investigations continue.
