Business robbery: Armed suspects still at large

Randfontein Police are investigating an armed business robbery committed in December, saying the suspects are still at large.

Police in Randfontein have launched an investigation after three armed men had targeted a building supply store in the central business district (CBD) early in December.

Captain Appel Ernst, Randfontein Police spokesperson said the armed robbery took place at around 2pm on Friday, 9 December. The investigating officer, Warrant Officer Santie le Roux-Laufs would appreciate any information that might assist her investigation.

According to Ernst, the 34-year-old man and victim of the robbery claimed the three unknown men entered the store and took out firearms.

“They allegedly demanded money and cellphones. The suspects took money from the cash register and a cellular device before fleeing on foot. The suspects did not fire any shots and no injuries were reported,” said Ernst.
