Police seek dead young man’s family

Dead man's family wanted: The man, 25, died after being hit by a car on the N12.

The Bekkersdal Police are currently looking for the family or next of kin of a 25-year-old man who was killed in a car crash a few months ago.

According to Sergeant Linkie Lefakane, the Bekkersdal Police spokesperson, the young man was killed at approximately 7.40pm on 17 August 2016.

The driver of the vehicle that struck him alleges that he was driving on the N12 near Zuurbekom when he noticed a man about to cross the street. He allegedly tried to swerve but bumped into him,” Lefakane explained.

The young man was declared dead on scene, but his next of kin have never been found.

Lefakane said after investigating, it was discovered the young man’s name was Sibusiso Mokwena. His date of birth is 6 April, 1991, and his last address was Block 12, Doornkop.

The police are now calling on the public to come forward with any information that could lead to finding Mokwena’s family or next of kin.
