Local pub gets its party on for a good cause

The're having a party, and it's for cancer.

On Saturday, 12 November, the Oribi Pub in Greenhills was buzzing with cancer supporters who got their party on for a good cause.

Each year, during the month of November, the pub hosts a fundraiser for men with cancer. Last Saturday’s party had a cross-dressing theme, with all the men were urged to dress like women and vice versa to add to the fun. The pub was filled with a great vibe and and even better intentions.

“Every donation we receive this month goes to the Movember Foundation which funds game-changing men’s health projects,” said Marina Stander, Oribi Pub Movember Foundation organiser.

According to Tercia van der Merwe, owner of Oribi Pub, their aim is to double last year’s donations.

“It was a great pleasure having him here. Today is definitely a success, but we wouldn’t have been able to pull it off without the staff and the clients,” Tercia concluded.
