A 22-year-old cyclist is in a critical condition after he allegedly was assaulted by a pedestrian in Venterspos on Tuesday afternoon (1 November). According to a reliable source and eyewitness, a pedestrian, allegedly under the influence of alcohol, walked in front of the man riding his bicycle. This led to a dispute that turned violent.
The eyewitness claimed further that workers in orange overalls also got involved in the dispute and hit the man on his head and back with a brick.Athlenda Mathe, Netcare 911 spokesperson confirmed the incident, and Netcare 911 paramedics assisted the patient.
“We found the young man in a critical condition and he had strangle marks. He was placed under advanced life support and transported to the Netcare Krugersdorp Private Hospital.”
