Wearing pajamas a crime?

Children allegedly denied access to large supermarket for wearing pajamas.

A post on social media about two children allegedly denied access to a large supermarket in Westonaria for wearing pajamas has gone viral.

The woman who made the post, Audrey Anchileen Swart from Glenharvie, says when her family attempted to enter the well-known large supermarket in Westonaria on the evening of 26 October, they were denied access because her children were wearing pajamas.

According to Swart’s post on social media, an employee of the supermarket took a piece of paper that allegedly says, “No pajamas and no ‘clowns’ allowed”, and allegedly shoved it in her face. Her children, under the age of 12, were distraught after this incident, as a thunderstorm accompanied by lightning was in progress, and they felt safer in the store.

On her post she also said her husband was determined to see the manager.

She added, “We will not be shopping there anymore. “

The supermarket was not available for comment.
