Police warns of vehicle theft

Do you drive old Toyota Corrolla's, Isuzu Bakkies or a Mazda. More than two vehicles per week were reported stolen for the past three weeks says police.

Sergeant Linkie Lefakane, Bekkersdal Police spokesperson says, “The same modus operandi seems to be used. The victims will park their vehicle at their premises with no lockable gates or garages at night and during the early hours of the morning. “

Sergeant Linkie Lefakane added the following morning when they wake up, the vehicle will be gone. The vehicles mostly targeted are old Toyota Corrolla’s, Isuzu Bakkies and Mazda’s.

The Station Commander, Colonel Nkhwashu urges the community of greater Bekkersdal to secure their places and to at least install security measures on their vehicle to avoid being victims.
