Wonder Woman to pupils’ rescue

'I want to challenge everyone to help make a difference in our community'

Randfontein’s Wonder Woman, Janine Ferreira, has once again taken up a cause to benefit the community.

Janine is part of the Rolemodels Foundation that was started six years ago and they have a dream to improve the lives of the next generation.

“We were concerned about those who are still suffering, in particular children who cannot change their circumstances or the cycle of poverty into which they were born,” Janine said.

The mission of the Rolemodels Foundation is to intervene in impoverished communities to create self-sustainability through education, which can ultimately eradicate poverty.

The Foundation has now embarked on a stationery drive for 2016/ 2017.

What they need:

• Suitcases (old or new)

• Backpacks (old or new)

• Pencil cases (old or new)

• Any stationery

• Colouring books

• Writing pads

• Reading books (old or new)

The stationery is being collected for three different groups – the Imfundo Educare, Asante-Neo-Life and Tamakhulu Projects.

The Foundation needs approximately 200 stationery kits to support the three groups and an additional 100 stationery kits to support children in the community who are not part of any of the three groups.

“As Mrs Johannesburg Second Princess for 2016/ 2017, I want to challenge everyone to help make a different in our community,” Janine said.
