According to Chitra Bodasing-Harduth, five of the nine survivors (including the baby) were critically injured and the other four sustained injuries ranging from minor to serious. One of the two occupants who died was said by Bodasing-Harduth to have been found trapped in a vehicle and the other was found lying near the road.

“Sadly there was nothing that could be done for two of the patients,” she said.

One of the patients, a man, who sustained critical injuries was treated and airlifted to hospital and the baby was treated and transported to hospital by road.

Three patients declined hospital treatment but the rest were transported to hospital, also by road.

ER24 as well as other emergency medical services responded to the incident and found that four vehicles had collided.

Bodasing-Harduth said the exact cause of the incident is unknown to ER24 but authorities were on scene for further investigation into the crash.
